Walkers Nurseries: Adding play to the garden centre mix

At Walkers Nurseries Garden Centre in Doncaster, you can find locally supplied products, explore beautiful gardens and enjoy a meal in the restaurant. As Walkers has become a popular destination for families, the team saw an opportunity to enhance their visitor experience by adding a new play area, aiming to draw in even more visitors.

A natural timber playground featuring interconnected wooden structures, bridges, climbing areas, and a slide, set amidst trees and greenery in a park-like setting.

Concept to Creation

The team at Walkers Nurseries wanted a play area to accompany the opening of their new cafe. As part of the Walkers’ brief, they emphasised the need for a playground for children aged 0-10.

We installed the playground just outside the garden restaurant, ensuring it was a place where kids could have fun and grow their confidence while their carers enjoyed some downtime.
After completing the project, Walkers Nurseries loved the results and requested additional features to further enhance the play value of the playground. This marked the start of our second phase, where we introduced a new multi-platform tower to the playground.

This new tower mimicked the original cluster tower, complete with its own owl carving and stag wood cladding provided by the Walkers team. To make room for the new tower, we relocated the hollow log that we installed during the first phase, ensuring no part of the playground was left unused.
