TouchWood Play brings a bold new woodland playground to Waddesdon Manor

TouchWood Play is delighted to announce its latest bespoke project; a stunning new woodland playground coming to Waddesdon Manor in 2026.

Set within the rolling parkland of this historic Buckinghamshire estate, the new playground is designed to celebrate play in harmony with nature. The imaginative space will feature sculptural climbing structures, swings, slides and hideaways, all carefully crafted from natural wood and other sustainable materials.

Created exclusively for Waddesdon by TouchWood’s specialist design team, the playground is inspired by the surrounding landscape and the manor’s rich heritage. The design will invite children to explore, climb and create their own adventures, while offering accessible pathways and seating so parents and carers can easily join in the fun.

“We wanted to create a play experience that feels completely at home within Waddesdon’s woodland,” said Joe Cooper, Founder of  TouchWood Play. “Our design celebrates the natural world and encourages children to connect with it through play, whether that’s climbing high among the trees, racing down slides or simply discovering the beauty of the outdoors.”

Waddesdon Manor, built in the late 19th century by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild, is cared for by the National Trust and managed by the Rothschild Foundation. It continues to attract visitors from across the country with its extraordinary collections, gardens and family-friendly experiences.

TouchWood Play is proud to partner with Waddesdon on this landmark project, combining craftsmanship, creativity and environmental responsibility to bring a bold and beautiful new play space to life.
