We’re delighted to announce that TouchWood Play has joined Historic Houses as a Corporate Member, marking an exciting step in our journey to support and enhance Britain’s heritage through the power of play.
Historic Houses represents over 1,000 independently owned historic homes, castles and gardens across the UK. As a Corporate Member, TouchWood Play becomes part of a community that is passionate about preserving the nation’s heritage while opening it up to future generations.
Our bespoke, nature-led play spaces are designed to spark imagination and adventure, all while being sensitive to their historic surroundings. We’re proud to have already worked with a number of iconic Historic Houses member properties, including our recently completed project at Harewood House, where we created an imaginative new play experience that weaves together stories, landscapes and creativity. You can read more about the project here. Our project at Holker Hall in Cumbria captures the magic of the house’s gardens while delighting toddlers and young children. The stone used in the play space was sourced from the Holker Estate’s own quarries. Browse pictures of the space here.
Other heritage collaborations include the National Trust’s Tyntesfield near Bristol, the legendary Bamburgh Castle in Northumberland, and the elegant grounds of Houghton Hall in Norfolk.
Joining Historic Houses as a Corporate Member strengthens our commitment to working with historic estates to create outdoor spaces that honour the past while encouraging discovery and play in the present.
We’re excited about the opportunities this new relationship brings, and we look forward to collaborating with more Historic Houses members to design play experiences that help families connect with heritage in meaningful and memorable ways.
We’re always happy to answer any questions you may have about how we work, or offer advice on how best to successfully deliver your project.
